Drapery Track Assemblies and Tape
Safe-Snap was invented and developed for hand traverse operation. The
simplicity of the track operation has made Safe-Snap increasingly
attractive to architects and their clients in hundreds of installations
throughout the country. No master slides, no troublesome cords, brackets
or hooks are required for these simple, hand traverse assemblies.
Track assemblies are available in extruded aluminum or white enameled
steel and are available for either wall or ceiling installation.
 |
- This uncomplicated system is ideal for university
resident rooms and similar commercial applications.
- Washable fire-retardant fabrics are generally used.
- Accent has a full line of these fabrics and is happy
to provide budget figures for a complete installation.
- Accent has its own fabrication facility.

Safe-Snap Drapery Systems are Durable ¨
Safe ¨ Trouble-free
| Since Safe-Snap track
assemblies mount directly to wall or ceiling surfaces, the
normal sagging problems inherent with bracket suspensions, end
returns, intermediate support brackets and master slides are
eliminated. The strong, durable snaps replace the conventional
drapery hooks and assure trouble-free installation and
maintenance in every application. |

CEILING INSTALLATION

Safe-Snap Tape Specifications

Preshrunk. Snaps: Long-life, rustproof, highest quality nickel

The tape used in
making draperies is not a part of the rod specification but is
purchased by the drapery manufacturer. It is important to
consider the amount of tape required as findings in the drapery
making costs. |
For WALL installation, the tape shall be sewn as near the top
of the drapery as possible to cover the rod. For CEILING installation
the tape is sewn lower so that the center of the snap is 1 1/2"
from the top of the drapery to cover the rod.
When sewing tape to the drapery, turn down enough fabric to catch
under the top row of stitching then stitch bottom edge of tape. Snaps
should be approximately 1" from each side of drapery.
Designed Expressly for Institutional and Commercial Installations
Safe-Snap simplicity of operation, plus its elimination of costly
parts replacement and maintenance, have met with immediate acceptance
for resident rooms, hospital patient rooms, hotel and motel guest rooms.
Reduce Initial and Continuing Maintenance Costs with Safe-Snap
Savings in Initial Cost
Less sewing labor — Labor costs are always a factor
in drapery installations, and sewing labor can be cut by 1/2 and more
with Safe-Snap tape. Safe-Snap tape is sewn flat directly onto the
drapery fabric.
Pleats itself — Heavy duty Safe-Snap tape pleats
itself. Strong and durable, both tape and snaps will last the life of
draperies without replacement.
Less fabric required — Due to making saving in the
heading and pleating, less fabric is used than in conventional
draperies.
Eliminates extras — No hooks, crinoline, or extra
material for pleats; no costly hand labor required to sew on hooks or
hook pockets.
Savings in Maintenance
Snaps off quickly — Draperies equipped with the
Accent Safe-Snap system snap off with a flip of the wrist; quickly and
safely... no hooks to unfasten by hand from the track and the drapery;
no stuck fingers, no torn linings. No danger of rips or tears. Rehanging
draperies is equally simple and fast with resultant substantial labor
savings.
Lower cost for washing or cleaning — Drapery becomes
a flat panel when removed. Absolutely no hand labor necessary. Machine
wash with no fear of harm to rust proof snaps.
Usually no pressing — Fire-retardant polyester
fabrics need no pressing if hung immediately after washing. No per pleat
charge if using commercial cleaner/launderer.
Automatically self-pleating — Safe-Snap heavy duty
tape automatically pleats as it hangs.
How to Order Track Assemblies
First: Determine the type of Safe-Snap installation needed from
examples shown. Track: Specify track length in inches. (The track is not
adjustable, but made to order for any window size.) A predetermined
quantity of carriers is installed in each rod to accommodate fabric
required to cover the rod when Double Snaps are employed.
